"Bring your own laptop" session
Originally designed for use in high school, the Geometer's Sketchpad software can be an effective tool when used to teach geometric concepts in an elementary or middle school classroom. Seventh grade math teacher Lisa Gorman will share her thesis research data on its effectiveness in elementary school, and she will give teachers strategies that she uses regularly in her math classroom. Participants will have an opportunity to experiment with the software and will leave with handouts and powerful templates to use immediately.

How do you plan a collaborative videoconference? This session will introduce you to MAGPI, MAGPI Fellows, and other collaborative videoconferencing and give you ideas and resources to find and/or plan your own event. You will learn what steps to follow as you decide on your topic and find collaborators.
